We're delighted to announce Angela Rayner, Deputy Leader of the Labour Party & MP for Ashton-under-Lyne, as a new Power2 ambassador.

Angela has decided to become an ambassador for us after seeing our programmes in action in her constituency. She had this to say about our work:

“Power2 gives young people who are facing multiple challenges the power to build a better future. The charity works with young people who are facing mental health challenges, economic deprivation, difficult home lives, disengagement from education and risk of exclusion. Power2 supports them for up to 3 years, making sure there is always someone out there for them. Its programmes build self-esteem and ambition and equip young people with the skills to make the most of their education and be positive forces within their communities."

Angela joins Marie-Elsa Bragg (Author & Priest) and Kemoy Walker (Youth Worker & Community Ambassador) whose support we announced during our Big Give campaign as proponents of our work with young people.

Kemoy also recently spoke to us about how lockdown has impacted young people's mental health and wellbeing and shared some of his concerns and recommendations for the future.

We are immensely grateful to our ambassadors and to everyone who supports us in our work with young people and to raise awareness of the challenges they face.
