About us News and media News Coronavirus: an update on our programmes Please check back here or keep an eye on our social channels as we will update this information as the situation develops and once we have a clearer idea of when we will be able to restart our programmes. As the government has announced that all schools in the UK will close from the end of this week due to the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), this means the programmes we run in schools will have to be postponed until it is safe for young people to return to school. We want our staff and the young people we work with to stay well and healthy so have taken the decision to pause all our programmes - whether they are run in schools or not. The government and its health and science experts have advised everyone to follow social distancing measures and stop non-essential contact and avoid all unnecessary travel, especially travel on public transport. We believe we should be doing all we can to support efforts to reduce the transmission of coronavirus and limit the social interactions involved in all our programmes. We are already investigating ways we can continue to provide as many elements of our programmes online or via video conferencing tools and other technology platforms. And we are busy making plans to pick up all our programmes where they’ve left off in September - or as soon as we can once it’s safe to do so. Many of the young people we work with are particularly vulnerable and they will be hit the hardest by the current situation and the closure of schools and inevitable disruption this brings to their education and support networks, so we’re looking at any way we can to support them during this challenging time. We look forward to doing all we can now to continue to support the vulnerable young people we work with, and to re-starting our programmes again very soon, we hope.
