Please check back here or keep an eye on our social channels as we will update this information as the situation develops and once we have a clearer idea of when we will be able to restart our programmes.

Following the government announcement of the closure of schools in the UK due to the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) we postponed all of our face to face programmes.

We are committed to doing all we can to support efforts to reduce the transmission of coronavirus and limit the social interactions involved in all of our programmes. However, we’re aware that the young people we work with are particularly vulnerable and continue to be hit the hardest by the current situation, especially by the closure of schools and inevitable disruption to their education and support networks. So we have been continuing to support them any way we can during this challenging time.

We have provided as many elements as we can of our programmes online or via video conferencing tools and other digital platforms. In our conversations with young people we have been listening to and amplifying their voices, which are so often overlooked by the media. You can see some of those conversations on our Life in Lockdown hub. We have also been speaking to carers, teachers and youth workers to fully understand the impact of the situation and what young people need at this critical time.

The picture of when many of these young people will be able to return to school remains unclear. But what we know is that during closure and when it is safe to return, we have to make sure someone is out there for these young people. So we’ve responded by developing our new Power2 Rediscover programme: intensive one-to-one support that helps participants transition back into education and society. Support to rediscover their emotional wellbeing, motivation and direction in the “new normal”.

We are also busy making plans to pick up all our programmes where they’ve left off as soon as it’s safe to do so. We look forward to doing all we can now and in the future to continue to support the vulnerable young people we work with.
