Working with Power2 has been invaluable for us. Power2’s 1:1 support has significantly improved the young people’s behaviour, sense of belonging, self-belief and overall achievement.
“50% of the young people at our school come from the most deprived areas in the country.”
“The young people we referred to Power2 faced a variety of challenges that hindered their engagement with school life. The challenges varied from difficulties focusing on their learning to managing mental health and anxiety. When Power2 joined us, our main goal was to improve the wellbeing and attendance of our young people so they could re-engage with school.”
“For many of them, the pandemic had a significant impact on their mental health, for others, they were struggling with adverse childhood experiences of trauma.”
“Providing the young people with access to a trusted adult who could listen to them without judgement helped them to regulate their emotions and understand themselves better. Forming a strong connection with their Programme Lead encouraged the young people to open up.”
“As their sense of belonging grew, we noticed considerable improvement in their behaviour.”
The results from the programme have really benefited the young people – attendance rates have increased, and we’ve seen a decline in exclusions. We now see very few exclusions during the day. The young people are learning more because their wellbeing has increased, and they are safe because they’re back in school.
“There was one young person in Year 9 who struggled with attendance but with the support of her Programme Lead she found the support and guidance she needed. Now, in Year 10, she has high attendance and has re-engaged with learning. She has won several school awards for her achievements.”
“The young people’s engagement with teachers and peers also improved while on the programme, helping to build positive relationships in the classroom. The young people no longer disrupted their own learning or that of their peers.”
“Looking forward to the programme each week really benefited the young people’s wellbeing and made them excited to come to school.”
Teachers tell us time and time again that they don’t have the resources or capacity to provide the intensive level of support that young people need, and that they rely on charities like ours to help provide that.
“Working with Power2 has been invaluable for us, especially post-Covid when we struggled to meet the capacity of our young people’s needs. The support provided through the programme has made a huge difference, impacting not just the young people but also our staff team.”
Power2’s 1:1 support is well-planned, children-centred and led in an effective manner. It’s significantly improved the young people’s behaviour, sense of belonging, self-belief and overall achievement.
