Power2 Aspire

Empowering young people for future success by supporting them with their wellbeing, independence and employability skills.

About Power2 Aspire

The programme supports over 18s who are currently in further or higher education and were previously eligible for free school meals.

Power2 Aspire is aimed at young people with aspirations towards a professional career – whether they have a clear path in mind or need some guidance to navigate their next steps. Either way, we’re here to support them throughout!

Participants develop key abilities such as teamwork, problem-solving and effective communication, which are essential for their personal and professional growth.

On the programme, the young people take part in work-based experiences such as workplace visits, employer-led and business challenges, and paid internships or placements provided by our partners. They are given the opportunity to learn from and network with a range of professionals and to gain access to meaningful work experiences and placements.

Programme topics include

Career support including CV and job application guidance

Confidence building

Stress and time management support

Mentoring, networking and employability events

Overcoming social anxiety and imposter syndrome

I’ve found the programme amazing so far. It’s been so helpful and useful for me, not just in terms of my studies but personally as well.

I cannot speak highly enough of all the help and support I have received, especially at a time when I felt lost and without hope.

Being able to speak to my mentor whenever I needed him was a great support system for me. He gave me advice on university including how to manage workload, assignments and how to manage stress. Having him there was invaluable to me — and it still is.

The ‘Skills in the Workplace’ day was jam-packed with stimulating activities and discussions. It was fascinating to see everyone’s thoughts and processes in action.
The talk on presentation skills was not only enlightening but also instantly applicable. We all left with a new outlook on how to properly connect with and capture our audience.
