Emily Wells is a Researcher at the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ), a think tank aiming to alleviate the issues facing those struggling the most. Research at the CSJ is informed by charities across the nation and Emily visited Power2 through her research.
Emily has two and a half years’ experience as a Police Officer working in Manchester which is where she first became aware of Power2, working on a project aimed at preventing serious and violent crime.
Equality of opportunity is a key principle which motivates Emily. The challenges confronting children and young people are on the rise, and Emily firmly believes that addressing these issues early on will help prevent more serious problems in the future, such as mental health struggles. She values prevention and views Power2’s role as vital in this.
I am delighted to be joining Power2 as a Trustee. Having witnessed Power2’s incredible work, I’m looking forward to contributing to its mission of preventing the ever-increasing number of challenges facing children and young people, and ensuring they have every opportunity to thrive.
