Shazia Latif Book is an accomplished professional who began her career as a Strategy Consultant at Accenture. She then went into public relations at Cohn & Wolfe, working with both government and blue-chip organisations.
After moving to Australia, Shazia worked for a boutique PR firm before becoming the media spokesperson for the Islamic Council of Victoria, which included the period following the events of 9/11.
Shazia then spent over 10 years in the Middle East, where she worked with various non-governmental organisations and charities, focusing on external relationship development and fundraising. Together with her family, she founded the charity Boots for Hope, which provides football kits and training to children in refugee camps and orphanages.
Since returning to the UK, Shazia has continued to work closely with several charities both in the UK and in the Middle East.
She also sits as a Presiding Justice in the Family Court for Greater Manchester and is the Black, Asian Minority Ethnic representative for the Greater Manchester Magistrates’ Association Executive Board. In this role, she is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion within the judiciary and empowering individuals from ethnic minority backgrounds to be a greater voice at all levels of the judiciary.
