From October 29th to November 21st, our Young Leaders groups from London and the North West teamed up to achieve something amazing.

They decided to 'Step Up for Social Action' by planning, leading and completing their own fundraising initiative for a cause they are immensely passionate about. The group managed to raise £205 for YoungMinds, a leading youth mental health charity. To do this, they completed a London to Manchester (and back again!) Step-a-thon.

Each of the Young Leaders involved got active by going out in their communities and recording their steps to contribute to an overall tally. They absolutely smashed their target of 720,000 steps, which was set to collectively cover the distance from our London office to our North West office and back again!

As you can see the Young Leaders have now beaten their target, hitting 1,170,538 steps!

Week 1

243,281 Steps

Week 2

Week 4

One of our Young Leaders made this video to support and promote their efforts to fundraise for Young Minds. Their passion and enthusiasm for this project is inspiring.

Another participant, Laiba, wrote a poem after completing the 'Step-a-thon', which melted our hearts and demonstrated exactly why the work we do is so important.
