Our latest impact report
We’re delighted to publish this impact report, covering the 25 years since Power2 was first established as a charity.
Our work has evolved significantly since 2001, as you’d expect, but what hasn’t changed is our focus on children and young people needing our support.
We’ve worked with over 30,000 young people since we were founded and we’re incredibly proud of everything they’ve gone on to achieve.
External evaluation
Our work has been independently evaluated by leading researchers, confirming the effectiveness of our approach.
Improving confidence and self-efficacy
An independent evaluation of our group programme Power2 Thrive, conducted by Stories of Change and funded by the Prudence Trust explored how the programme is experienced by young people, what elements create change, who it works for and whether we’re using the right tools to monitor progress.
Reducing school exclusions
Research by the University of Sunderland evaluated the experiences of children, young people and families participating in a RootED intervention to reduce school exclusions. It found that the Power2 intervention established multiple protective factors to accessing and surviving mainstream school.
Improving wellbeing and reducing school avoidance
This report by Pro Bono Economics provided a value for money assessment of Power2 Rediscover. It draws on a 2024 evaluation by the #BeeWell team at the University of Manchester and finds Power2 Rediscover could be improving wellbeing by the equivalent of 1.2 life satisfaction points.
Young people’s stories

Endorsements
I’ve seen the Power2 programmes give our young people the space to shine beyond the classroom. They leave with renewed confidence, resilience and hope for their futures.
Both the young people and their school staff commented on an improvement in their self-confidence and most notably 100% of the young people reported an increased enjoyment of learning and said that they would recommend the programme to other young people.
As a B Corp and with a commitment to diversity and social mobility we have been exploring how our sector can be more inclusive and diverse and our company’s role to make it happen. Our relationship with Power2 has been invaluable in this, helping us empower young people to access career skills and experience, and involve the whole team in doing this. Power2 has helped make sure the students feel supported throughout the process.
We have been so impressed by the dedication, drive and standard of work by the students who have attended our career day and placements. They have made really meaningful contribution and insights to our work.
I wanted to express my deep gratitude to Power2. I stand ready to channel their teachings and the opportunities given to me as I pursue my personal and professional development.
The programme helped us to explore and use what we’ve learnt to the best of our abilities.
Being able to speak to my mentor whenever I needed him was a great support system for me. He gave me advice on university including how to manage workload, assignments and how to manage stress. Having him there was invaluable to me — and it still is.
