Our story
This is the story of where we started, and where we’re heading next.
History of Power2

2001
Where it all began
We were founded with a simple but important mission: to combat social exclusion by supporting children and young people from vulnerable communities across London. That year, we launched our first Teens and Toddlers programme in a single borough reaching 33 young people.

2010
Growing our impact
By 2010, we were working with over 500 young people every year across London.

By 2012
Expanding to the North West
With backing from the Department for Work and Pensions, we brought Teens and Toddlers to the North West and mobilised quickly to work in over 60 schools.

2020
A turning point
Julie Randles joined as CEO—and just three months later, the UK went into lockdown. We quickly adapted, launching Power2 Rediscover, a one-to-one wellbeing programme created in direct response to the challenges young people were facing.

2021 onward
A broader offer, designed with young people
We’ve grown from one programme to a whole suite of group and one-to-one support, co-designed with young people. Our work now spans London, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Yorkshire and the West Midlands - and our team has doubled in size since the pandemic.

Today
Still in their corner
More young people are facing poverty, poor mental health and barriers to learning. We’re here for them until every young person has the support they need to thrive. That’s our long-term vision, and we won’t stop until we get there.
Our impact
We work with over 1,200 children and young people every year. Find out more about what they’ve been able to achieve with our targeted support.
