  1. Work with us

The Mentoring Academy

At Power2 we emphasise the importance of asset-based programmes that encourage young people to build on their positive traits and past experiences.

For some young people, having access to a responsible, trusting and supportive adult outside of education is not the norm, and often prolonged support is needed to ensure lasting change.

This is why our Mentoring Academy adds so much value to the lives of young people.

Mentoring gives young people a unique opportunity to develop a relationship with an adult who can support them whilst they explore their potential.

We want to expose our young people to individuals who embody aspiration and continued learning.

How it works

Each mentoring Academy is led by a team from one of Power2’s corporate partners, who become mentors to young people in further education, as part of our Power2 Aspire programme.

Over 6 months, teams of mentors are supported by Power2 to work through a personal and professional development curriculum.

By the end of the project, we expect young people to have developed and improved the following core skills:

  • Communication
  • Working with others
  • Decision making
  • Organisation
  • Awareness (of self and others)
  • Leadership monitoring

Where appropriate, we expect mentors to support young people with developing soft skills and overall wellbeing as well as their career goals, including building professional networks, attending networking events and exploring career paths.

Costs

It costs £5,000 to run each mentoring academy. This includes mentoring and safeguarding training, mentoring tools, group sessions throughout the six months, evaluation tools and reports, and access to Power2 support.

Could a team from your company make a meaningful and lasting change in the lives of young people?

We'd love to discuss our Mentoring Academy opportunity. Please contact our Corporate Partnerships Manager by emailing [email protected] or calling 07713275545.
