Many young people already faced an opportunity gap. Struggling with mental health, engagement in education and more, the pandemic has abruptly cut many off from their support networks. Our research shows that 32% of young people from the UK’s poorest areas don’t feel they have anyone to talk to and that they are more likely to have been struggling at home during lockdown.

Without urgent intervention we risk a lasting impact too great to overcome. The younger generation will pay for the long-term consequences of the pandemic and those who were already disadvantaged will pay the highest price.

With your help these young people will know there is someone there for them. We’ve developed Power2 Rediscover, intensive one-to-one support to help young people transition back into education and society; to rediscover their wellbeing and motivation in the “new normal”. Coaching sessions cover mental health, practical guidance, planning routines and engagement with education and aspirations.

Power2 offers support on an ongoing basis for up to three years to the individuals we work with to make a real and lasting difference.

We have some fantastic ambassadors supporting this campaign and speaking out about the need for such interventions. Jane Asher and Marie-Elsa Bragg are passionate about enabling young people to achieve their full potential and overcome the opportunity gap.

Doubled donations via the Big Give have now ended. You can still support our young people by signing up to our newsletter or donating here.
