We’ve been working closely with Tameside College to help train a crop of ambitious apprentices hoping to build careers in the children and youth services sector.  We’re proud to have recruited three permanent members of staff through our apprenticeship scheme. Leah Pendlebury is one of six apprentices who took part in our scheme which began last year. Here’s what Leah has to say about her role at Teens and Toddlers.
I love my job and getting out there to assist on projects. It’s great to be a part of a charity helping young people to improve their life skills and confidence. Last year I worked on five different Teens and Toddlers programmes across Greater Manchester. This includes projects reaching pupils at a high school I went to in Wigan.
What I enjoy most is seeing different groups of young people mentoring children in nurseries. I had the chance to work with pupils from a school for young people with special educational needs. It was amazing to see how they experiencred programme. Just seeing the positive effect our Teens and Toddlers project had on them was fantastic.
