Why does the logo feature a buffalo and oxpecker? Expand The visual metaphor we have chosen for this is the Buffalo and the Oxpecker. In the sub-Saharan African wild, Buffalos and Oxpeckers provide each other with ideal support; the poor sighted Oxpeckers find an easy meal while the Buffalos are cleaned in the areas they can't reach. Unlike many other relationships in the wild, the relationship between the Buffalo and the Oxpecker is truly symbiotic example where both organisms benefit and that is why they provide the perfect visual metaphor for Power2.
Why specifically 'Power2'? Expand Power2 works as the name of our charity in two ways. Firstly, be it young people and young children or employers and young people, bringing different groups of people together for mutual benefit is at the heart of what we do - so Power2 represents the Power of 2 people or groups to come together for mutual benefit. Secondly, Power2 reflects what we want for young people: empowered young people building a society where all children can fulfill their potential.
Will my contacts at the charity change? Expand No. The team isn't changing and all contact phone numbers will remain the same. The new Power2 emails will follow the convention [email protected] (so for Joe Bloggs: [email protected]), however all Teens and Toddlers email addresses will continue to work.
How much did this rebrand cost you? Expand With thanks to support from Bulletproof (branding) and Raising IT (website), we have been able to rebrand without spending a penny.
Why have you rebranded? Expand The decision to rebrand follows a shift from us being “Programme Led” (entirely focused on delivering the core Teens and Toddlers programme) to being “Mission led” (ensuring all children and young people have the opportunity to achieve their potential). We believe this is vitally important in enabling us to place the needs of children and young people first.
Will you continue to deliver the Teens and Toddlers and Young Leaders programmes? Expand Absolutely. Teens and Toddlers and Young Leaders will remain at the core of what we do. The only implication for our programmes is that we will be looking to extend our offer so that we can better address our purpose: to ensure all children and young people have the opportunity to reach their potential.
