Exciting times ahead for Power2 as we redesign our Power2 Be Active Programme.

Power2 Be Active is a 16-week programme which uses sport and movement as the base for peer mentoring and youth leadership.

High school students will visit a local primary school once a week to engage in and lead activities that will help their young mentees develop both social and physical skills, followed by group work activities. The aim of the programme is to help young people recognise the benefit of exercise to their mental and physical wellbeing, improve confidence and to play an active role within their own lives, such as making informed choices, developing effective communication skills and building meaningful relationships with others.

To do this we need you!

We need young people to shape and influence this programme to ensure that what we’re doing is what young people want and need. What you say matters, and we would be delighted to have you onboard our Be-Active Co-creation team.

What we ask from you

A commitment to a minimum of 1 day per month in person (dates to be confirmed but are likely to be Saturdays and school holidays), and one online evening session of 90 minutes on the last Thursday of each month, from November 2023 to March 2024 (5 months).

What will I be doing?

You will take part in discussions and workshops that feed into the design of our Be Active programme, giving feedback on what works and what doesn’t, and making suggestions for changes and new ideas.

What’s in it for me?

As well as meeting new people, this experience is a great way to build your teamwork skills, have your ideas heard, and experience different perspectives. We will provide a reference for your work on the programme, and as a thank you for your time and effort, vouchers will be given to those who take part. Public transport costs, lunch and refreshments are also provided for the in-person workshops.
