In June 2021 we launched a series of 'Power2 Be Me' events, which provide an opportunity for invited guests and Power2 Champions to hear about young people’s progress towards overcoming internal challenges and recognising and fulfilling their potential. The stories speak for themselves.

The inaugural Power2 Be Me event was held on 8 June 2021. It was sponsored by Weil, Gotshal and Manges LLP and hosted by Sky and BBC BAFTA-winning producer and journalist Jacqueline Shepherd. The four young people who spoke were astounding. It was a privilege to hear their stories, and it is evident they have a huge amount to offer to society!

Quote from Rahul, a young person talking about how easy it was to talk to Jacqueline Shepherd, who hosted our inaugural Power2 Be Me event.

In November 2021 we held the second in our series of Power2 Be Me events.

Titled ‘Power2 Be Me at Work’, this event brought together four young people, all from our Power2 Advance programme in Lambeth, and Dr Louise Ashley from Royal Holloway, University of London.

Generously supported by Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, the event saw the panel discuss what it means to be yourself at work. They also spoke about how recent efforts in diversity, equity and inclusion have changed life for them as young people entering the world of study and work, as well as areas that still require progress.

The honesty and eloquence of our young people was outstanding and we are delighted that they felt able to speak their truth in front of an audience of Power2’s core supporters, including corporate partners and ambassadors.

We are planning another Power2 Be Me event soon. These events are by invitation only, including to our Power2 Champions.
