I used to go to high school in North London and my attendance was really low. I was suffering with depression. It was a stage of my life when I didn’t want to be anywhere apart from my bedroom. There were days when I would bunk off school and go to a coffee shop when I was meant to be in class. Things changed after Teens and Toddlers.

Since 2001 we have supported over 11,000 young people, many of whom were determined to get back on track with their education. One such student was Aisha* (16), quoted below, who was referred to the Teens and Toddlers programme as her behaviour meant she had a history of being excluded from school.

I did the programme and I spent time mentoring a toddler in a nursery. I really enjoyed it and I liked fact that we worked in small groups. My attendance improved a lot which is great. I really want to complete my GCSEs.
